04/03/2024: Like everyone else here I can't recommend El Chile Gordo enough. If you are at all into food you really need to dine here with any visit to El Cuyo. Oscar is an amazing chef and Cathy is an equally amazing host. I loved hearing about the history and preparation of each course as well as learning a lot more about El Cuyo itself. I admit I was a little apprehensive before visiting as I am an introvert with a lot of social anxiety and it being a single communal table is a more intimate dining experience than I am usually comfortable with. However Oscar and Cathy's hospitality pretty quickly made it feel like I was dining with friends rather than strangers. This was my first time visiting El Cuyo and I loved it. I am certain I will be back both to El Cuyo and El Chile Gordo.
