Villa Rica Merida en Mérida

We are always willing to give new restaurants a go, so selected Mariscos Villa Rica Mocambo for one of our weekly nights out. It apparently had been in operation for about three years. Its exterior and interior were bright and inviting. White table cloths made a nice impression, and the existence of a separately enclosed "kids" play space was appealing. Staff was friendly, service excellent and attentive, but the food was bland and average at best. Although I finished my Lomo de Atun which was acceptable, our orders of Hamburguesa Camaron and Tacos Mixtos were only passable with portions ending up in their recycle bin. The saving grace was that the bottle of Casa Madero 2V (even priced at 800.00 pesos) made the evening.
