What a wonderful experience it was to dine at Turmeric and Ginger! This was more than a dinner, it truly was an experience. First, let me start by saying I had never had Indian food before, so I was a little skeptical. My husband likes Indian food, so I agreed to go to be an accommodating wife. The owner, Vijai, pulled up a chair and gave us lots of information on the food, how it differs from "Americanized" Indian food, answered all my questions and made GREAT suggestions. He became more than a proprietor, he became our friend. We even exchanged What's App numbers! We got simsosas, I got the shrimp curry and oh my goodness, it was delicious!, my husband got chicken vindaloo, which he loved, lentils, the cauliflower/potato side dish and Naan. Every single dish was outstanding and prepared like Vijai's Mom would have made it. We spend every January in Zihautanejo and you can bet this will be a regular spot for us! As much as I love Mexican food, a girl needs some variety and I found it at Turmeric and Ginger! Thank you, Vijai, for an awesome meal and evening!
Probably the best compliment I can pay is to show you my empty tray, the customary way to serve Indian food.
