This was our second experience with Pelican Point and each time we were very satisfied with everything. The service was attentive and having custom ordered food ensured that the meal met expectations. The Mahi special was a highlight. Will definitely be back in the spring.

Falafel Nessya, México

27/01/2024: 26/1/24 friday brunch We three middle aged guys from London wanted a quiet veggie breakfast with no music, and we thought we had found this (well regarded on TA) tiny empty restaurant, hurrah! As soon as we sat down someone turned on the music quite loud (even worse it was faux reggae and covers - not All Stars). Why???? The basic menu was on a chalkboard high on the back wall. A poster of drinks with honey was underneath but no prices were displayed (it turned out to be 25 for a half litre simple bottle of lemon juice - not on the list). A young waitress arrived and we ordered two half pitta felafel (60 each), an Israeli salad and one full plate (140) for me (to share). At one point there was an incredibly loud and grating grinder/liquidiser for most of a full track of reggae. My friend had to hide in the toilet as he has a hearing problem. It was brunch and they were preparing for lunch but the mix of loud music and blending was disturbing. We could not hold a conversation. Space is limited but they could construct a padded box to keep the noise down). They were not making mole as it was not on the menu! Sauces in plastic bottles were put on the table and after a while (no problem as everything is freshly cooked) the food arrived. It was generous and tasty. My full plate was the best value we agreed so I shared some felafel and hummus with my friends. My 6 felafel were drizzled with a tahini sauce which was used to cover the mixed salad in the 'Israeli salad'. Another felafel sat in a doughnut of hummus. There were also nice and crispy French fries (more to share). It was all quite tasty and good value. My full plate also came with a pita in a basket and overall was the equivalent of about three half pitas with felafel and extra salad, chips and hummus. The lemon drink was good, we shared it. The very full stuffed pitas proved a bit messy as one exploded whilst eating and soiled my friend's trousers..ooops. The young waitress started to clear the table before two of us had finished and then went to clear my friend's plate with food still on and the bottle of juice that was not quite finished..ooops. A tourist family with a screaming baby arrived to order a takeaway. Thankfully it behaved itself whilst they waiting for the food. The grinder went on again and my friend nearly exploded. Oh well. When we had all actually finished I ordered the bill from the waitress and she returned with a written bill and told us the total of 350. It was within what I expected so I was happy. We got the correct change from a 500 note but she did not give us the bill though, odd! We left as the place was filling up for lunch. It was much more peaceful outside.... We had passed by the evening before just before it closed and it was busy with tourists. Oddly enough, on looking up my spreadsheet records, on our visit to Mexico in March 2017 we ate at a Felafel Nessya in PdC on Monday 6/3. I even wrote a review on TA.
19/10/2023: This place is across from the market, two blocks away from 5th avenue, place is cheap, food is acceptable, great customer service and overall recommended.
