La Docena is a fabulous haven for seafood enthusiasts. Upon entering, you are greeted by mountains of various types of oysters resting on gigantic ice trays. The music echoes, the lighting is dim, and the atmosphere exudes a carefree vibe. We ordered 2 x 2 x 2 fresh oysters, served with three different exquisite sauces. Additionally, Peruvian ceviche, featuring beautiful pieces of white fish marinated in a delectable concoction. There was also tuna tartare, presented on a large piece of toasted bread with a delicate topping. Furthermore, a piece of grilled white fish served with aioli and a delightful guacamole. Having consumed oysters around the world, one of these oysters - nestled in a plump, round shell - was the best ever. The sauces were each brilliant in their own right. The ceviche was truly excellent, the tuna tartare downright fantastic, and the grilled fish utterly addictive. To accompany, a couple of well-shaken cocktails, one being a mezcal margarita. The culinary experience deserves 7 stars. However, we found the assertive service to be very business-oriented. There was no genuine care for the guests, but a constant subtle pressure to order more. There was also a lack of generosity - once the few corn chips were eaten, they were not replenished, which is often the case elsewhere. We ended up paying around 2000 pesos for a rather light meal. It was in line with the quality (which, after all, is paramount), but the immersion falls far behind. La Docena is cool business.
