Que Huevos, México

15/08/2023: Firstly, I'm from the Bay Area, CA and this is literally my first review of a restaurant ever. Just got back from visiting a friend for her birthday. Our group ate here 3/4 days for breakfast. Fortunately, it was walking distance from where we stayed. The servers are friendly, patient, accommodating, and lastly, they understand English. Pricing is fair at $10-18 per item. Lots of shaded outdoor seating to enjoy the weather and catch a breeze. They also accept cards. The item to get is the huevos rancheros con arrachera (huevos rancheros with flank steak). My friend Tiffany was raving about how her friend Marco couldn't get enough of the huevos rancheros. Now I've had huevos rancheros in California. So I was definitely skeptical. Thinking to myself, " It's a simple dish (eggs, beans, salsa, tortillas, and meat). how great can it be?" I couldn't have been more wrong. It was quite literally the best huevos rancheros I've ever had in my life. It's cooked in a small cast iron with the tortilla on the bottom, layered with black beans, 2 eggs over easy, sliced strips of perfectly grilled flank steak, covered an incredibly flavored salsa ranchera, and garnished with onion and avocado slices. The bottom layer tortilla soaks up all the sauce and flavor. Consistent perfectly cooked over easy eggs with a runny yolk. And hearty cuts of flank steak. Served with a small side of black beans and a salsa roja that's got enough heat to make you cough and sweat a little but not overpower the flavor of the meal. The salsa is out of this world. I would've bought 10 bottles and brought it back home if I knew it wouldn't spoil. My only regret is that I didn't eat here more. If you're in Playa del Carmen and you don't eat here, you've wasted your trip. 20/10. I will definitely dream of my breakfasts here until I return. #QueHuevos4Life
