For the area this is one of the more upscale dinner options. Food was good as was service. We all had steak but with various sauce options. I didn’t try all but think would order “sin”/no sauce they were not bad so this is just personal taste. We were staying in Centro area—restaurant was a long walk. With the uneven pavement suggest taking a taxi or bus.

¡Otra cena fabulosa en Blue Rose! Maravillosos platos frescos y salados, servicio súper amable y atento, y ubicación conveniente entre Ajijic y San Juan Cosala Hot Springs Spa. ¡Qué delicia, 5 estrellas y estoy deseando volver!

Three nights ago, we dined at Blue Rose and were so disappointed with the “filet Mignon.” When I complained that there was a large hunk of gristle, the waiter was quite apologetic and said he would bring another. The 2nd steak had (if possible) more gristle than the first steak. The owner came over and preceded to tell me, how her husband is a “German master butcher and that he knows how to cut meat”. Well he must have missed the day they learned to cut filets and tenderloin because neither cuts have large veins of gristle running thru the middle of the steak. Passing those cuts of meat as filet mignon is laecherlich!
