Aperi, México en San Miguel de Allende

11/03/2024: Came out for a three night get away with a friend. On the plus side: good beds and bedding, very spacious and comfortable suite, nice deep bathtub and plenty of hot water, dog friendly, warm and welcoming hosts- went the extra mile to return a knapsack and a dog toy that I had left behind. The outdoor seating for the restaurant is lovely. Excellent housekeeping. Our suite was cleaned while we were at breakfast without fail. Very pleasant landscape and I loved watching the horses and donkeys grazing happily on the sweet smelling alfalfa. The hot spring fed pool is delightful and was the highlight of our stay. The spa services while pleasant were nothing special. On the negative side: inescapable piped in music in the restaurant and pool areas. Top 40 hits from the 80’s which were too loud and intrusive for me. In my opinion not harmonious with the surroundings. The food is mediocre and the coffee barely drinkable. One waiter was a tad surly when I sent back a steak which I had ordered medium rare and received blue, arguing that it was medium rare. The food aims for haute cuisine but doesn’t deliver. Best to stick to the simpler preparations. While presenting itself as a destination dining experience, there are far better restaurants in San Miguel.

23/11/2023: Siempre me encanta ir al restaurante Nirvana para ocasiones especiales. Tuvimos una visita familiar desde los Estados Unidos, y este lugar fue simplemente perfecto. Se admiten mascotas, excelente comida y servicio, y un magnífico lugar para cenar.
