La carta de vinos es horrible. Precios carísimos para algunos de los peores vinos que he probado. La comida estaba simplemente regular en sabor, pero la presentación era muy buena. No vale la pena el precio.

We had an outstanding experience at JA'O while at The Waldorf. Not only was the food great, especially the ceviche, but Jefferson was an amazing bartender who was extremely attentive and very friendly. He made our stay much more enjoyable with all of his suggestions for drinks. We especially enjoyed his knowledge of tequila and mezcal.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Waldorf Astoria Cancun, and it was an unforgettable 10/10 experience!! On our last night, we dined at JA’O, and it truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service was incredible. The hostess went above and beyond, kindly providing me with a wrap for my shoulders since it was a bit breezy outside—allowing us to comfortably enjoy the stunning view. Our server, Frank (who we loved), elevated the evening even further. He made the dining experience incredibly enjoyable with his warm personality and attentive service. The food was so delicious, and Frank’s care and attention to my dairy sensitivity made me feel completely safe and at ease. It was the perfect way to end our stay, and we’ll cherish the memories of this amazing evening! Thank you, Frank and team at JA’O!! <3

Great spot for authentic Mexican food. Great bar with American sports on so you do not miss the big game. Staff is wonderful and attentive.

The service provided by Alejandro and Laura was superb. We came with our teens and they devoured the octopus panuchos. The dessert (blue corn pudding) like nothing we have had before. And the Mexican wine selection outstanding.

Cazuela de tequila Cal. 9.5 Ceviche mixto Cal. 7.8 (estaba bueno pero nada espectacular) Tostadas de camarón (me las recomendó mi mesero Irvin) CAL. 9.9 Estaban increíbles Y Luis (gerente) me recomendó una bebida de pozol y arroz a cambio de un carajillo y no se equivoco!!!! Cal. 10!!!! Recomendación general 9.5 Grandioso lugar para comer y platicar a gusto!!

This was perfect for a relaxing evening. As always, service was impeccable and the food was delicious with exciting twists on the normal! Fantastic!

My husband and I came to Ja’o for dinner and the food was absolutely amazing! I had the catch of the day tacos and my husband had the catch of the day with a delicious sauce and veggies. We then finished our dinner with red velvet churros for dessert, delicious~ Francisco was our server and he was incredibly kind, informative and attentive! Me encanta el ambiente y la vibra. Hemos venido muchas veces y Ja’o siempre es nuestro mejor lugar para comer cuando venimos a Waldorf. Las papas fritas y el guac están llenos de sabor y son únicos en este restaurante. No se puede equivocar con nada el menú y el personal es tan amable y atento a todo. Recomiendo encarecidamente venir y probarlo todo!

Our server, Jeff Alejandro, was attentive and knowledgeable, making our evening truly special with his warm service and thoughtful recommendations. The bartender also crafted personalized cocktails tailored to both the menu and our personal tastes, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the night. We booked the 7 course tapas tasting menu featuring Yucatán indigenous cuisine, which was nothing short of fabulous. Each dish brought out the rich, unique flavors of the region, but the star for us was the Crab Stew—such a wonderful blend of flavors that you can only experience in this part of the world. A must-visit for anyone looking to explore authentic and vibrant local cuisine. Can’t wait to come back!
