Ryoko en San Miguel de Allende

Gran ambiente, buen servicio, comida normal. También se esperaría que los chefs de sushi usaran guantes o se lavaran las manos con frecuencia mientras manipulan diferentes alimentos, platos, etc.

I’ve lived in Japan and have high expectations when going to a Japanese restaurant no matter what country I’m in. Ryoko does Japan proud. The small sushi bar is beautifully minimalist designed. The chef and waiters are professional. The tableware fits into the Japanese aesthetic. The salmon sashimi was artistically displayed and delicious. The chef had a wasabi root that he ground down and provided with the meal. The nigiri and sake were also top quality. 10 out of 10.

A very generous, and delicious Omakase meal. We ordered the 10 course and at a certain point thinking it was almost over we wondered if we should have ordered 15. We asked where we were in the number of courses and we were at number five. We stopped counting. Extremely generous helpings and absolutely delicious. What stands out for me is the salmon skin and oshinko maki, and the scallop which was seared with butter in front of our eyes. The meal ended with miso soup and a home made chocolate truffle with a sour berry coulis. Loved it - and very good value for the cost.
